Student work samples
In this section, you will view several student-created work samples that effectively display technology and curriculum integration. When working with students, as a facilitator of learning, it was vital for me to closely follow and incorporate the standards of learning through the use of the curriculum framework, while maintaining student engagement.
Third grade created these art-inspired poems. After selecting an image they felt inspired to write about, students chose their words from the word bank to write and complete their poems in their Storybird accounts.
First Grade utilized PicMonkey to demonstrate their knowledge of habitats they were learnings about. Students researched their own images of scenery, species and populations and uploaded them to design their collage.

Above, third grade students were given the task of researching and identifying various items to represent units of measurement. The poster above specifically depicts capacity.

Second grade students studied ancient Egypt. Students were responsible for researching and identifying pictures to correlated with and that represent their content.

After taking a field trip to Monticello, 4th grade students were asked come back and construct a Tagxedo poster. Their posters demonstrated their knowledge and understanding of Monticello by identifying key terms and phrases.
Mystery Skype is an Interactive geography game, requiring that students use, as well as gain, a wide var iety of skills. Students connect with other classrooms LIVE to identify their mystery location! Above you can see students integrating technology to play against other classes.

Students utilized Blabberize to demonstrate their knowledge of European Explorers. Prior to recording, students wrote a script that allowed them to focus on the use of dialogue and proper quotation marks.
In this habitat video, students utilized Animoto to demonstrate their acquired knowledge of differentiating between terrestrial and aquatic habitats. Prior to creating this video students generated lists of varying habitats for both aquatic and terrestrial to be researched.

In Danny's Simple Machine video, students were able to display their acquired knowledge of the six simple machines. In this project, students were able to research items in order to identify real-life examples of each machine.

ABCya allowed for students to generate word clouds. Prior to the creation of this word cloud, students brainstormed key words associated with measurement. Students were then able to create their word cloud with the use of their rough draft.

For this activity, students were to choose from one of the three types of resources being learned in class. This student chose to focus on human resources. After planning a list of ideas to include in the word cloud, students were then able to type their word cloud to demonstrate their knowledge of resources.

First grade was learning about natural resources. After conducting a lesson on natural resources, students were asked to brainstorm and identify various natural resources, then use those words to create their word cloud.

Through the creation of this PowerPoint, students were able to demonstrate their understanding of the phases of the water cycle by researching an image of each phase, as well as describe it.

For this assignment, students were asked to identify the six famous Americans being discussed and learned about in social studies. Students were required to provide a picture and a statement about each person to demonstrate understanding of their accomplishments.

Storyline online was utilized to have Stellaluna read aloud to students. This offered the an opportunity for students to engage with and listen to another reader aside from myself. This read aloud lent itself to a follow up activity in which students created bats, which also assessed their knowledge of bat body parts.

The Smithsonian is an excellent resource to integrate life and the real world into the classroom. These cameras allow you to take virtual field trips and allow students to become engaged. When studying different animals, these cameras were used and acted as aids to conceal student understanding prior to assessment, which are pictured.
